Overview

WordLock is built to respect your privacy. The app does not collect personal information that identifies you. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information, including what happens when you select protected apps, verify your Wordle result, or make a purchase.

Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal information about you.

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking, no diagnostics, and no crash reporting.
We do not know who you are, and we have no account system. The only information processed by the app is the minimum required to provide its core features: your local app shielding settings, your daily Wordle verification state, your streak data, and purchase status if you choose to subscribe.

How Your Data Is Stored

Your protected app selection, shield schedule, Wordle completion status, streak, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device.
Some of this data may also be stored in Apple-provided local shared storage so the app’s Screen Time extensions can apply or remove shields. This data is not sent to our servers. We do not operate a backend for WordLock, and we have no access to your protected app choices, Wordle results, schedule, streak, or settings.

Screen Time and Protected Apps

WordLock uses Apple’s Screen Time, Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings frameworks to let you select apps to shield during your chosen schedule. Apple’s system provides private app tokens to WordLock so the app can apply shields locally on your device.

We do not receive the names of your selected apps on any server, and we do not transmit your protected app selection anywhere.


Wordle Verification

When you share or verify your Wordle result with WordLock, the app processes that information locally to decide whether your shield should be unlocked for the day. Your Wordle result, attempt count, and related streak data remain on your device and are not sent to us.

Third-Party Services

The app does not use advertising networks, analytics platforms, or crash reporting tools. The only third-party service involved in purchases is Apple’s App Store. If you buy or restore a WordLock subscription, Apple processes the transaction and provides the app with purchase status information needed to unlock paid access. We never receive your name, email address, payment card details, or Apple ID.

Internet Connection

WordLock does not require an internet connection for its core shielding, scheduling, and Wordle verification features.
An internet connection may be required by Apple’s App Store to buy, verify, or restore a subscription.

Children's Privacy

We do not collect personal data from any users. The app is designed to work locally on-device.
Any purchase is handled entirely by the Apple account holder through the App Store.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes — for example if a future version of the app introduces optional features — we will update this document and revise the date at the top. The updated policy will be available on the app's store listing page.
